Adam Bjorndahl

Adam Bjorndahl is a tenured professor of philosophy at Carnegie Mellon University with a PhD in mathematics from Cornell University. He fell in love with logic and philosophy as an undergraduate at the University of Toronto and has been conducting research and teaching in these areas ever since. His work revolves around using logic and game theory to reason about concepts like knowledge, learning, and rationality.

His textbook, "An Introduction to Classical and Modal Logics: The Outlines of Knowledge", distills years of teaching experience into a friendly and readable yet fully rigorous volume. Designed to be accessible to novices, the book contains hundreds of examples, exercises, and comments to guide the reader through the delights of logical thought. It also includes a self-contained introduction to topology and a detailed appendix reviewing mathematical basics like sets, relations, and functions along with more advanced concepts like induction and infinity.
