Heather Dalton

I recently upended my life and retired from classroom teaching to become an author and a writing coach. Eleven years of teaching upper elementary school students how to write, while reading large stacks of middle-grade fiction myself, has given me a unique understanding of how to write books that teens and tweens actually like to read. I self-published three middle-grade fantasy novels and donated all my profits to an orphanage in Haiti. I enjoy public speaking and leading writing workshops at local libraries and schools. If I had to pick one word to describe myself, it would be tenacious.
