James was raised in a small rural town in Kentucky. After high school he attended Western Kentucky University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Outdoor Education. He has earned several IT certifications over his lifetime. Later he earned his master's degree in Secondary Education. He taught technology at the middle school level. His passions include writing, high adventure activities, hiking, travel, photography, National Parks, and digital arts. He is married with three grown children and four grandkids. Lives near the mountains of Utah. Currently, retired but still kicking.
