Susan Goff

Susan E. Goff is a visual artist, writer, and bishop in The Episcopal Church. In 2012, she became the first woman elected bishop in the Diocese of Virginia. She led the churches, schools, retirement communities and other organizations through the COVID-19 pandemic while taking her own journey through the wilderness of breast cancer treatment. Susan delights in exploring the intersections between spirituality, nature, and the arts. Susan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Rutgers University, and a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. She shares a colorful, art-filled home in Richmond, Virginia, with her husband, Tom Holliday, and their sweet, stubborn chihuahua, Georgia.
