M E Watson

M. E. Watson is an autistic writer who lives in the garret (a posh name for a cobwebby and spider filled attic) of the Old Manor House in the village of Upper Much-Mousing, in the county of East Lambtonshire. Their landladies, Mrs Hudson and Lady Erin, feature in the authors books. In fact they insisted that the author be hired to type up their case notes. When not typing, they can be found pottering around the garden and greenhouse, mowing lawns, and offering not so helpful hints on how to fix things.

They enjoy reading and reviewing middle-grade fiction, eating marmite and almond butter on hot toast, devouring milk and dark chocolate, and, opportunity permitting, pinching Mrs Hudson’s freshly made buttered scones and chocolate cookies.

Book 2 of the Chumley and Hudson Investigate series – The Dragons Eye Mystery – will be released early 2026. Book 3 – The Egyptian Escapade – will be released late in 2026/early 2027. Book 4 is at the planning and draft stage, and Mrs H and Erin are keeping the destination a secret, for the timebeing at least. So watch this space!
