Gregory J. Leeson

Gregory J. Leeson, a Halifax, Nova Scotia native, has a degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario. Following a brief stint in investment banking in Toronto, he moved to Chicago to trade bond futures at the CBOT. Years later he ventured into entrepreneurship as a co-founder of Chinova Software, designing systems for several prominent companies. He retired in 2021 as a Senior R&D Manager at Pfizer.

Following retirement, he traveled for 13 months driving more than 26,000 miles across North America researching and writing his first book, Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives: A Path to Reconciliation in Our Divided Times.

Leeson, a dual Canadian/U.S. citizen, then turned his attention to a dream he had considered for years—moving to Europe. After conducting extensive research, he moved to Lisbon, Portugal in February 2026. It was from there he wrote his second book, Your New Life in Europe: The Essential Guide for North Americans Planning to Retire, Work, or Live Abroad.
