I’ve never felt the need to transport the reader to some exotic location to keep them interested. Neither am I afraid of writing about ordinary things because they’re always the things that matter most. I love writing about the here and now, how we interact with those around us and how we manage to negotiate modern life.

I was born and brought up in Retford in Nottinghamshire and there’s always a little bit of it in my stories, even if it never gets a mention.

In my spare time, I love encouraging wildlife in my garden and travelling across England in a campervan with my partner, Andy, and our rescue dog, Blu.
