Ian Bloom

Ian Bloom is an American author, musician, and artist born in Hollywood, Los Angeles. His sixteen-book catalogue spans fiction, screenplays, interviews, poetry, and philosophical prose. His books include Screwdriver, The Western Road, Savage Recreation, King Kong, Star Vehicle, King, and Driver. Across these works, Bloom explores art, ambition, money, power, desire, fate, identity, and American self-invention.

As a musician, Bloom writes, performs, arranges, and produces his own rock records, including Swagger and the instrumental hard-rock album Golf. His wider practice includes independent film, painting, and photography.

Bloom studied art history and narrative film at Columbia University, comparative literature at the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
