L. B. Gunstone

Hey! My name is Lila and I am the author and illustrator of The Adventures of Parsley and Whipper. I signed my first contract to publish this when I was fourteen, and now I am fifteen and the book comes out November 8th 2024 (my accounts are managed by an adult)! I am absolutely thrilled with it and, technical details and difficulties aside, it has been an amazing process to get here.

I started to write when I could pick up a pen, and I was entirely encouraged to do so by the incredible people around me. My father and my mother have been essential in making this happen, as their encouragement and enthusiasm has only made me want to write more. My family contain extraordinary, interesting, creative people and I love them very, very much.

A big aim of mine is to encourage young people that see meaning and wonder behind words to pursue that as much as possible. Literature can take so many different forms, and I believe that it is so important to explore those different forms, and to do it purely for the love of it, and that is why I write. I write to express myself through different voices, different characters and to connect with other people.
