Kath Crew has been telling stories since she could first talk and writing them down since someone showed her how to use a pencil. Her active imagination has occasionally landed her in trouble over the years.
She was President of Cambridge Footlights in the 1980s and wrote for and performed in revues whilst at University. As a teacher she wrote for her students and she has been a contributor to various publications.
Now she is free of children - her own and those belonging to other people - she is enjoying writing at length for a larger audience. She likes to write humorous and entertaining, character-led stories, but hopes to encourage thoughtful debate whilst not being entirely flippant.
A Londoner born and bred she now lives in Oxfordshire with her husband and a small white dog called Boris. A townie at heart, she is trying hard to fit in with life in the countryside and extend her classification of the natural world beyond a basic, 'bird', 'flower' or 'tree'.
A Cactus Called Ironside is her first published novel. She has enjoyed writing it so much that she is now working on a sequel.
