Geoff Miller

Geoff is Mancunian by birth (but a North Easterner by marriage), his initial career was as a teacher. He was ordained into the Church of England in 1983 and has worked across the North East of England, finally as Dean of Newcastle. Geoff loves writing but has only a few books to his name. He edited a collection of reflections in The Bright Field (available on Amazon) and he wrote the Cathedral Guide in 2020 as well as a Blog called The Dean’s Lockdown Diary (both available from the Cathedral ) Since retirement he has had two concurrent projects: Learning to play the Northumbrian Pipes from scratch (he is still very much at scratch) and exploring his family history which is a little quirky. The latter resulted in him being persuaded to put pen to paper. (Or more truthfully fingers to the keyboard.)

Geoff has, in spite of the piping, managed to stay married to Elaine and they have one son Philip. Philip is a better wordsmith but that’s how it goes. He promised not to write a sequel to ‘Who is Joe Daniels’ , at least for now, and he (usually) keeps his promises. He has, however, started work on the prequel, ‘Beyond the. Pale’ which might just have further and more precise revelations of that mysterious Joe.
