Robert Milks

The son of an Air Force officer, Robert Milks grew up in many places (all in this universe). By age eighteen, he had spent half his life outside the continental United States and half in five continental U.S. states. He witnessed cultures different from his own, but nothing prepared him for the America from 2016 on, and satirizing people and events is his response: Transportaling: Adventures in a (Nearly) Parallel Universe. After working for forty-five years in journalism and publishing, he’s spending his retirement writing fiction and getting things done around the house. He's also taken to studying French, German, and Spanish, all of which he studied in his youth, but is finding that remembering vocabulary and grammar is harder than it used to be. He's contemplated picking up his trumpet after more than forty-five years and relearning how to play it, but is sure his wife and their dog would not be pleased. He has a BA from Davidson College and an MA in English from NC State University. He lives in Cary, NC, with his wife (and dog).
