Suzanne Rethans

Suzanne Rethans is a well-known Dutch journalist, columnist, author and podcaster. She has been writing for various magazines and newspapers for almost 25 years. Her speciality is human interest, especially women's issues and health. She is currently one of the main perimenopause advocates in the Netherlands, with her own podcast 'We are not crazy, are we?', through which she makes women aware of menopause symptoms that are not always recognised, misdiagnoses and solutions, such as HRT, in order to empower women.

Desired and despised, the life of Sylvia Kristel' was first published in Dutch as 'Begeerd en verguisd, het leven van Sylvia Kristel' (published by Atlas Contact Amsterdam), for which Rethans won the 'Louis Hartlooper Award' for best film publication at the Utrecht Film Festival in 2020. The French translation 'Désirée et méprisée, La vie de Sylvia Kristel' will be published at the end of October.
