Harry Eiss

I am a Full Professor Emeritus from Eastern Michigan University, where I taught creative writing, world mythology, and numerious other literature courses.

I spent my life in a search for meaning and value, involving an interdisciplinary exploration of neurology, psychology, theology, philosophy, and all of the arts and humanities; and resulting in a theory of Metaesthetics, an application of the cutting edges of these disciplines to how humans think and comprehend existence.

My publications inclue By the Pricking of My Thumbs (A Christmas Mystery), Once Upon a Time a Boy Lived on Lake Minnetonka (A Memoir), and numerious scholarly publications, including A Detailed Explication of T.S. Eliot's The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, Insanity and Genius, Divine Madness, The Mythology of Dance, The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke (a biography of Richard Dodd), and Christ of the Coal Yards (a biography of Vincent van Gogh).

I have also been a featured Humanist for the United States National Endowment for the Humanities, and have taught at several other universities, including The University of North Dakota, Northern Montana College, Minnesota State University, and Pacifica, receiving national and international attention for my pedagogy and publications.
