Kisane Slaney

Kisane Slaney was born in Singapore the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.

Writing a novel was never one of her ambitions, yet here she is at eighty-three, self-publishing The Heiress, her debut novel!

Her first career was as a photographic model in Sydney, Australia, in the vibrant 1960s. She spent the 1970s raising her four children before enrolling at Murdoch University in Perth as a mature-age student.

Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Kisane completed her Honours and PhD studies while working as a counsellor in the fields of domestic violence and child sexual abuse. She later joined Curtin University as a Senior Lecturer in Counselling within the School of Social Work.

Now that The Heiress is launched, Kisane is researching her second novel, inspired by the lives of her three great-aunts who had exceptional careers in the UK in the 1940s.

Kisane still lives in the beautiful city of Perth, Western Australia. She’s an avid movie fan, and her greatest joy comes from spending time with her family and three young grandchildren.
