Sherri Jackson is currently an English Language Arts Learning Specialist in the Bronx. Before becoming a Learning Specialist, she was a Special Education teacher in the South Bronx and previously worked in Harlem where she had the opportunity to create a program for children to target social-emotional needs. Sherri’s educational philosophy is believing that each child will receive the best education that will advance them in life. She understands that students require patience and has dedicated her time to better understand the social, cognitive, emotional, and physical needs of her students to better serve them. Sherri received her Master’s degree in Education from Capella University and a second Masters in Special Education from The City College of New York. As a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. she volunteers for the community. Sherri enjoys spending her free time with her children at the park, running, hiking, reading and listening to music.
