Loida Smith

Loida Moya Smith was born in La Carolina (Jaén) in 1974. She has a PhD in Social and Health Care. Fundamentals and Intervention by the University of Alcalá, graduated in Social and Cultural Anthropology by the University of Valencia and graduated in Nursing by the University of Granada.

At the age of thirty she decided to divide her time between writing, working in the sunny Valencian Community and open water swimming. On a daily basis, she coordinates international vocational training projects and works as a secondary school teacher.

However, when night falls, words reclaim their territory in her mind ever since, at the age of six, she discovered that stories could transform her world. She ventured into the universe of novels and stories through the literature. She also immersed herself in the fields of nursing and anthropology, contributing scientific publications that reflect her commitment to research and understanding human complexity. Now, she intertwines her passion for letters with the impulse offered by Cuadranta with her first novel in Spanish Lo que enreda el oleaje, which has been a finalist in the Fernando Lara 2024 awards.
