Eric Robert Thomas is originally from Newark, New Jersey; he also calls East Orange, New Jersey, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Florida, and Queens, New York home. Eric has been an elementary teacher for 26 years. He has been blessed to be a Teacher of the Year in three schools. In 2008, he and his students were featured in a New York Times article entitled “Trenton Students Find Strength in a Pact of Their Own.” He received the “Community Cares Award” from The Three Doctors Foundation on their 10th Anniversary in 2010. He recently received a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his work with the Trenton Children's Chorus as a part of Capitol Harmony Works. He is working on his following children's book, which will be released later this year entitled “Exceptional.” When he is not teaching or writing, Eric enjoys teaching percussion, performing in the band for tap dancer Omar Edwards, storytelling to children, putting on jazz events, and learning about animation.
