Marlene Alpa

Marlene Alpa was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and holds an associate degree in Advertisement and Digital Media. Writing has always been a constant companion in her life, from stories and songs to heartfelt letters for loved ones. Inspired by Slam Poetry videos in 2020, Marlene dove into poetry, creating five poetry albums, four of which she produced independently. These albums are available on streaming platforms under the name Marlene, as well as on her YouTube channel (@MarleneAlpa).

Her debut poetry book, For the Ones Who Never Yawn, reflects a deep desire to share more than just personal experiences, touching on themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. After grappling with fears of criticism, Marlene found the courage to complete and publish the book with the support of friends and family.

Marlene's work is driven by a desire to connect with readers who, like her, seek meaning in life’s quiet moments. She hopes her poetry inspires others to embrace vulnerability and find beauty in introspection.
