Stacey Shubitz

Stacey Shubitz is a certified literacy specialist and a former classroom teacher who taught fifth grade in East Harlem, NY, and fourth grade in Central Falls, RI.

In 2009, Stacey turned her passion for writing workshop into a career as a literacy consultant. In addition, Stacey has worked as an adjunct professor, teaching graduate courses at Lesley University and Penn State – Harrisburg.

Stacey co-founded Two Writing Teachers, a blog devoted to teaching writing in grades K-8, in 2007. She has been co-hosting the Two Writing Teachers Podcast since 2022.

She is the author of several professional books on writing instruction, including Welcome to Writing Workshop: Engaging Today's Students with a Model That Works.

She has an M.A. in Literacy Education from Teachers College (Columbia University) and an M.S.Ed. in Childhood Education from Hunter College (CUNY).

Stacey resides in Pennsylvania with her husband and children.
