Barbara De Roos

Barbara Dagmar de Roos is a Dutch indie author of creative and narrative non fiction, living in the Netherlands with her husband Ernst. She holds two master degrees, one in history and one in cross-medial business administration. Her extensive career in journalism has always revolved around magazines, books, writing, editing and publishing, even before she graduated from the University of Leiden in 1991.

The quote “The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens” from Bahá’u’lláh is something she has experienced first hand, while living in five different countries (Colombia, Netherlands, Spain, Bermuda and Greece) and moving house 44 times since she was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1965. This global outlook explains her attraction to several religions, cultures and ways of life, that lead her to accept the international Baha’i Faith - now thirty years ago.

To share her mystical insights and experiences is one the great joys of her life. She inherited this gift from her paternal grandmother and has refined her mystical traits by prayer, meditation, fasting and studying ancient Peruvian shamanism.

Her bilingual publications include:

* Monthly historical columns for a Dutch newspaper (Leidsche Courant, 1984 - 1985)

* Multiple articles and interviews for youth- and women’s magazines (since 1989)

* A YA-novel for a Dutch publisher (Het mes op de waaghals, Uitgeverij Strengholt, 1990)

* Six short stories for Beverly Hills 90210 Magazine (Dutch edition, 1993 - 1994)

* Part of the content for B the One, the first mass customized women’s magazine in the Netherlands (self-published, 2011)

* Seek the Unseekable, a lighthearted mystical guide (self-published, Amazon, 2016)

* Blogs on Medium, Quora and LinkedIn (mostly in English)
