Abigail Dunn

For the last fifteen years or so I've always had a book on the go. Wherever I go, my book comes with. My friends at university used to laugh, in a nice way of course, when I'd take myself off to the stacks on a Saturday afternoon to study. Little did they know that I was secretly getting high inhaling the musty smell of old books as if they were exotic incense. Anyway, my love of books inspired me to try my hand at writing, and so "Swallow the Toad" was created.

The autobiographical non-fiction work tells of my trials and tribulations living and working in Germany. The Germany that became my home in 2012. Lecturing and teaching at universities, in schools and in companies gave me a great insight into customs, behaviours and attitudes which would have otherwise remained hidden. My experiences so far may not always have had a "happy end", as the Germans like to say, but they enriched me in other ways. Either that or I'm a glutton for punishment. I'll let you be the judge.

Currently I'm freelancing as an English language instructor and creating materials for specialised English courses.

Thank you very much for visiting my page.
