Denzil Verardo

Denzil and Jennie Verardo have written numerous publications together on California state and local history, including books on the history of the Napa Valley, the Salinas Valley, and Santa Cruz County. Professionally, Jennie Verardo was the Manager of Corpsmember Development for the California Conservation Corps and Dr. Denzil Verardo was the Chief Deputy Director of Administration, for the California Department of Parks and Recreation. They both retired from state service but continue to work for the preservation and conservation of California’s natural environment.

Willie Yaryan earned a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His doctoral thesis was on the political economy of nature preservation.
