Kal Burgess

Kim Burgess took the pen name of TOBY in 1974 and changed it to KAL in 1996. Under these pen names she has created many poems, musical compositions, and verses. Kim is the youngest of seven children and raised in Southwestern Ontario. As she has always said, she was one of the second Corinthians living in the garden of Eden which is just down the road from the land of Goshen. She will also tell you she had to leave Eden to find Heaven which is Cranbrook BC.

Family members, events and just inspirations were her start in writing. She also admired her paternal grandpa, Leslie Winfred Pressey, as he would sit at his table and hum his own songs over and over with verses he had written. Kim feels that if at least one person is made to feel a little lighter and happier, then she has achieved her purpose.
