Rottweiler

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I am (unapologetically) a product of my environment. I am a Gen Xer, and as a kid, living on a boat in Puget Sound, there was no internet, cable TV, or satellite radio. Entertainment was limited to AM/FM, cassette tapes, and books. Clancy, Herbert, King, L’Amour, and Tolkien helped fuel a creative mind and push me toward creative expression. During my impressionable years, I became obsessed with fantasy and science fiction, immersing myself in the rich, imaginative realm of AD&D and the works of Eddings, Feist, Le Guin, Heinlein, McCaffrey, and Moorcock (to name a few). I was twelve when I wrote my first short story.

A maritime lifestyle was a perfect segue to a twenty-year Navy career, where two pivotal things occurred: I learned a trade that would sustain me for life, and I earned a degree in Literature from the University of Maryland.

After fifty-some trips around the Sun, I have come to rely less on extrinsic fulfillment and have looked inward to find a wellspring of ideas, plots, outlines, and narratives—eager to escape onto the written page. Since then, I have written and published over a dozen novels, as well as numerous short stories and novellas, which have been featured on various online forums and retailers.

These days, I reside in Southern Tennessee, sharing my modest home with two entitled Rottweilers and an old cat. Aside from working, writing, and editing, I strive to maintain sustainable independence through gardening, making wine, kombucha, and sourdough, as well as canning, preserving, and raising chickens.
