Mary Catherine Rounsavall (Ott) is a singer/songwriter, Grammy-nominated music educator, award-winning international composer, choral director, pianist, and worship leader.
Ms Rounsavall earned her Bachelors of Art in Music for Vocal Music Performance and a Masters of Art in Teaching.
In 2012, she debuted an album of original songs under the name of Mary Ott, released an album of hymns with jazz pianist Stacy Bearden, and released multiple singles of songs and compositions that she has written and performed. She has taught music both privately and publicly since 2004 and has been the director for children's and adult choirs for many years. Her experience also includes being on staff as a church accompanist and also as worship leader/music director. Using her Kodaly certification, she has taught general music at South Beauregard Elementary since 2010. In addition, Ms Rounsavall has taught private piano, flute, voice, and violin since 2003.
Mary grew up in church and listening to Christian and Gospel music. Her mother began teaching her piano at age three, and she studied multiple instruments throughout her childhood and youth. She is heavily influenced by the classical greats but also by musicians such as Dino, Jimmy Swaggart, and Bill Gaither. In 2015, she survived ovarian and uterine cancers and was widowed of her husband of 13 years, Todd Christian Ott. Currently, she resides in Lake Charles, LA.
