AFP Kozhipatt writes historical romance rooted in colonial and post-independence India, drawing on a global career in finance and a life lived across three continents.
Also known as Antony F. Paul, he is a member of the Royal Society of Literature in the UK and a global finance executive. Writing under a pen name that honors a family name omitted at his birth in the French part of India, he brings a worldly perspective to fiction shaped by history, migration, and cultural memory. Before turning to fiction, he built a distinguished career at the Federal Reserve and international banks.
Born in Pondicherry, the famous setting of 'Life of Pi', Kozhipatt infuses his cultural historical fiction with the city’s layered heritage. He refined his craft through Stanford Continuing Studies’ Novel Writing program, which brought new nuance and depth to his storytelling. His immersive fiction explores colonial India and the spiritual meanings behind ancient mythology, including the symbolism of Ganesha and Nataraja. His debut novel, 'British Raj Thillana: The Finale,' is set in post-independence India and draws on his formative years.
His second historical romance, 'Loot at Paris,' is set in Paris and Pondicherry and weaves mystery with stories from his years in Europe. The novel interlaces the search for hidden treasure with the history of 18th-century colonial looting of Indian art and artifacts. He is now working on his third novel, currently titled ‘Vth Ave. Aspen,’ drawing on his student years in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK. After calling three continents home, he writes his epic historical romances from the Town of Oyster Bay on Long Island, New York.
