Christopher D. Sims, born and raised on the west side of Rockford, IL, is a writer, a poet, essayist, spoken word poet, and a teaching artist. Crafting personal, detailed, and informative writing, as well as engaging performances, he seeks to tell the human story, share experiences he had growing up on the west side of Rockford, IL, and the beauty he sees in people, in nature, and to be honest when it comes to social justice issues. He is a regular stage artist performing with various elements to increase his voice, such as the wooden flute, a ukelele, or percussive drums.
