Ernie W. Webb III

Ernie W. Webb III, an award-winning writer and author of the true crime best-seller "Goodbye, Butterfly: Murder, faith and forgiveness in a small Kansas town," is a native Missourian who has lived most of his life in Kansas. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media and a Master of Liberal Studies with an emphasis in journalism from Washburn University. Webb’s passion for reading began as a child, as he pored through the local newspaper and “Sporting News” magazine for box scores and stories about his beloved Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. The love for all things sports became a career in newspapers, including stints as a beat reporter, copy editor, columnist and editor in Kansas, Texas, Virginia and Oklahoma. Webb left the news business in 2010 and has worked in higher education for 14 years, including 12 as a media relations specialist and director of marketing at his alma mater (Go Bods!). His writing covers an array of topics, including true crime, sports, and his late father. Webb lives with his goddess of a wife and children.
