M. D. Roblyer

M. D. (Peggy) Roblyer is a retired instructional design professor and textbook author who helped usher in the world of technology in education the 1990s, becoming prominent for shaping this new discipline in the online era. In a career that spanned nearly 40 years, she authored a dozen Pearson Education textbooks, including Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching, which became the best-selling text in the field when published in 1996 and remains so today in its ninth edition. Her forthcoming memoir Strong Glass, to be published by Apprentice House Press in 2026, is her first non-academic book.

She and her husband Bill Wiencke, also a retired educator, are proud parents of a daughter, Paige, a public defense lawyer. In addition to writing, Peggy is absorbed by travel, fiber crafts, water aerobics, and walking the “Scenic City” of Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she lives with Bill.
