Anya Petrova

Anya Petrova writes illustrated bedtime stories for children who want to explore everything, and for the grown-ups who read to them at the end of the day.

Her books have a lot of range. In one, a young hedgehog slips out into the Whispering Woods at twilight. In another, a curious kitten steps through a rainbow doorway to save an enchanted forest. Elsewhere, a girl befriends a starlit dragon, a boy travels through time, a child helps rescue a dinosaur, and a crew of galactic cadets sets off beyond the stars. There are also quieter tales about cities and forests learning to live in harmony, and about brave, gentle heroes who win with heart rather than strength.

Under the different settings, the stories share a purpose. They are meant to leave a child feeling brave, kind, curious and safe. Each one is written to be read aloud, lingered over, and remembered at bedtime.
