"Hello, readers! I am a new author who just started writing books and absolutely loves it! My goal is to write books about difficult topics such as mental health, bullying, EDs, and much more. I want to make it easier on people my age, or anyone in general really, to not be afraid to speak up about things they are going through. What I do is I reach out to people to ask them those awkward questions that you wouldn't normally bring up — the ones that should be brought up. Nobody should feel alone or too scared to talk about their feelings. Admitting to your feelings doesn't make you a baby; or a coward; or, for some of you, less of a man. If you keep your emotions bottled up inside, they'll have nowhere to go, and one day, they'll burst. So please, if you need help, ask. Text someone. Call someone. Write about it anonymously. Just, whatever you do, don't make the mistake that so many do and fail to find help. You are a human being. You deserve to be heard. You deserve to feel loved. I hope that, if you can't find that support in your life somewhere, you can find it within the pages of my books. Thank you for the support." - Miley Rae Hurley, 10th Grade
Miley Rae Hurley is a new author who, as of 2024, has just published her first book. She has been working hard for several years to fight through procrastination, self-doubt, and writer’s block to finally reach her huge dream of being an officially published author. While she favors horror and romance genres, she decided to write about a recent heartbreak of hers to hopefully get it out there to readers that they are not alone in what they are going through. Writing has always been one of her favorite pastimes. She adores expressing herself through the use of similes, metaphors, and detailed descriptions of emotions. She wants her readers to feel her pain through her words. She wants her words to bleed every drop of passion that she pours into her writing. Whenever she gets the chance, she is reading new books to expand her extensive vocabulary, and when she’s not reading, she’s either creating art or making new memories with her friends that she adores so dearly. She is incredibly grateful for everything she has worked so hard for. Stay tuned for more works by her if you enjoyed what you read.
