Samuel J. Best

Samuel Best is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Connecticut, specializing in public opinion and electoral behavior. He has co-authored four books, including Toppling Trump: How Party Elites Steered Joe Biden to the Democratic Nomination and Victory in the 2020 Presidential Election (Springer, 2024), Exit Polls: Surveying the American Electorate, 1972-2010 (CQ Press, 2012), and Internet Data Collection (Sage, 2004), as well as numerous articles in such journals as the Journal of Politics, American Journal of Political Science, Public Opinion Quarterly, American Politics Research, and Political Behavior. He previously served the Director for the Center of Survey Research at the University of Connecticut and as an exit poll analyst for CBS News.
