A Southern California native, Dan Lewis grew up in the City of None always longing for something more. At the age of 18, he met the Master Painter who looked him square in the eye and told him that he was exactly who he needed to be to fill this world with color! From that day forward, he’s been painting with his crazy ideas, dad jokes, inspirational teachings, and thirst for life.

Married to his high school sweetheart, Michelle, for over a quarter century and the father to two amazing young men, Nate and Matt, Dan has been an engineer, teacher, pastor and is now a caregiver. In early 2020, Nate was in a terrible accident that left him disabled and needing 24/7 care. Sadie and the City of None was inspired by the difficult journey to find meaning in tragedy and purpose in life re-imagined. When Dan found himself languishing back in the colorless City of None, he knew he needed to go back to the Master Painter to be reminded that he can paint on the canvas of his life no matter where life took him.
