Ambra Guarnieri

Ambra Guarnieri is a literary critic, cultural theorist, poet, and dramatist. She holds a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Philosophy and the History of Ideas from the University of Rome La Sapienza (summa cum laude), an MA in International Journalism from City University of London, and a PhD from SOAS' Centre for Cultural, Literary, and Postcolonial Studies, University of London. She is working on a play entitled 'Pyramus and Thisbe are Alive,' which transports Shakespeare's A Midnight Summer's Dream to 21st century West London, a collection of poetry, and a postmodern Bildungsroman.

Her first book of literary criticism, 'Decolonizing the Literary Imagination: Dialogue and the Postcolonial Encounter,' delves into the postcolonial encounter in literature, exploring the dialogue between different cultures and the impact of colonialism and postcolonialism on the literary imagination.
