Dr. Sheila Wilson was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She's an author, educator, and coach dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their voice, challenge false perceptions, and live authentically. With over 30 years of experience in education, she brings a powerful blend of scholarship, lived experience, and reflection to her work.
She is the author of In My Hands and Perfectly Me, children’s books that celebrate self-worth, identity, and the power of embracing one’s unique path. Her latest book, Fix Ya Face: Why First Impressions Lie and How Black Women Can Control Their Own Story, explores the impact of misjudgment and offers a pathway for taking control of one’s narrative without seeking approval.
As the Founder and Learning Architect of AmplifyED Educational Consulting, Dr. Wilson supports educators, leaders, and students in developing meaningful, student-centered practices. Her work is grounded in the belief that who we are should never be defined by how others perceive us.
Through her writing, speaking, and coaching, Dr. Wilson continues to inspire others to choose authenticity over approval and to show up fully—unapologetically themselves.
Dr. Wilson lives with her husband, Robin, and her adorable dog, Boudreaux.
