I'm an amateur investor and part of the F.I.R.E. movement (financial independence - retire early) in the UK. My "financial education" series tries to help people with investing and retirement.
As well as writing books, I'm one of the founders of "the fire place", a free project to teach investing for retirement. This includes co-hosting a podcast, writing articles for our wiki, and being involved in a community of amateur investors who meet up in real life as well as online through a Facebook group.
Having sold my business in 2025, I think I am retired. You see, I feel the urge to do things, some of which make money.
In amongst this, I like to travel; I've been to around a hundred countries and am a sucker for spectacular landscapes like Scotland, Norway and New Zealand, each of which I return to repeatedly.
