Debbie Maulding

Debbie Maulding is a retired Registered Nurse who specialized in Hemodialysis and Care Management. She began writing articles for the school newspaper during elementary school, and published a small book of poetry while in high school. She has had poems, letters and short stories published in magazines, newspapers and collaborative books. In March 2002, she received the International Poet of Merit Award from the International Society of Poets for a poem titled “Silver Threads”. Her interest in World War II and American History led to her willingness to participate in the Beyond Belief: True Stories of Colorado Heros that Defy Comprehension project. Debbie grew up in the Panhandle of Florida and spent most of her life there. She now makes her home in Fruita, Colorado, where she is an active participant in many local events and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
