Ronald Francis

Ronnie was born in Zimbabwe. Early school years in Cape Town. High School in Dundee, Natal. Introduced to auditing and accounting in Dundee, Natal. Theological studies in Johannesburg. Opened an accounting and tax practice in Johannesburg. Currently residing in Scotland.

Ronnie Francis spent his early years in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. The lure of the big city then beckoned and he moved to Johannesburg which became the base from which he operated for many years, primarily in Youth for Christ, churches, the Baptist Theological College and the successful Accounting and Financial services company that he founded.

Ronnie worked diligently (and does at everything he sets his heart, hand and brain to) and as a result there are some academic letters that are affixed to Ron’s name; these are Licentiate in Theology (BU SA) and B.Th. (Hons) Unisa). He is also a member of SAiT (South African Institute of Taxation)

In 1982 he married the lovely Shirley, whose presence and extraordinary spirit quietly moves behind everything you are reading. In April 2023 Shirley exchanged transience for eternity while this booklet was being written. Three children were born to Ron and Shirley, Barry, Bradley and Kathleen. Barry is married to Joy and they have two children, Alexia and Nathan; Bradley is married to Kathleen (not his sister) and they have two children – Jonty and Daniel; and Kathleen is married to Jarrid, and they have a daughter Emily.

Like his Lord, Ronnie is a servant who has been involved and who becomes involved where he believes he can make a real contribution and difference. He has given his talents and abilities to:

Youth For Christ Dundee (KZN), Youth for Christ Sandton (Gauteng), Rosebank Union Church (Youth Pastor), Lonehill Village Church (Pastor), Baptist Theological College (Council member), Baptist Union of South Africa (Member of Missions Department), Honeyridge Baptist Church (Elder) and Ridgecrest Family Church (Elder).

Many years ago, Ronnie felt that one of his ministries was in the financial world, guiding and assisting people and businesses to manage and use money wisely and efficiently. With that vision in mind, he founded Ronfin Financial Services (during 1991) to provide accounting and tax services.

As for Ronnie’s life, it has always revolved around his family, his passionate Christian faith, his business and golf.
