Lawrence Bird

Born in Coventry in 1939, Lawrence's early life was deeply shaped by the impact of World War II and its aftermath. This, combined with a lifelong interest in politics, served as a major inspiration for his story. He spent his career as a design and development engineer in the aerospace and automotive industries, retiring over two decades ago. The shift from technical work to creative writing provided the perfect challenge during the lockdown period and his book is so credible for being based on the facts of the time. When not writing, Lawrence is an active volunteer in many areas, most notably within the cycling community.
