Josh Griffin

At school in what was laughably called ‘careers advice’ when asked what he wanted to do with his working life Josh answered proudly; “I’m going to be a diver!” When the teacher had stopped laughing; Josh was told “You’re as thick as twelve lavatory seats, you will be lucky to get a job sweeping streets.” The result was to make him even more determined not to fit into the normal pigeonholes of a bigoted boy’s grammar school in the early 1970’s.

Over the next few years Josh found himself to be fortunate enough to be able to exploit some good luck and was able to prove them all wrong. He did eventually become a commercial diver working in both the inshore civil engineering and offshore oilfields of the world. Later he would run his own consultancy managing diving projects as well as teaching commercial diving and underwater inspection techniques to a wide range of clients both in the UK and overseas. Upon retirement Josh decided that having written a number of instructional texts and technical manuals he would have a go at writing a fictional book. Death in Dartmouth is the result.
