He holds a Bachelor of Town and Regional Planning (BT&RP) from the University of Pretoria and a Master of Philosophy (MPHIL) in Heritage Conservation from the University of Cape Town.
Michael is enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable, responsible, and hard-working, with a strong ability to work well in both team environments and independently. He thrives under pressure and consistently meets strict deadlines. His skill set includes strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, managerial, and leadership capabilities, which he seeks to apply and develop further in management roles.
Beyond his professional work, Michael is also an author, currently working on several books. These include 'Where are Men? An Outcry of Gender-Based Violence Against Women and Children in South Africa,' which explores overlooked stories, societal stigma, support systems, and the path to healing for male victims of gender-based violence.
Michael's journey from growing up in Mpumalanga to becoming a professional in Cape Town has been marked by significant challenges and achievements. Raised in a poor, god-fearing family, he attended church daily, excelled academically despite financial challenges, and navigated a path from a modest upbringing with limited resources to becoming a respected professional. His background includes a deep connection to his roots, having grown up with five sisters, playing soccer daily, and learning the value of discipline and hard work from his parents.
His life experiences, both personal and professional, continue to shape his approach to his work and writing, driving his passion for social issues, heritage conservation, and urban planning.
