Lindsay Rumbold writes novels which weave the Cold War history of the Royal Air Force with present-day mysteries to create stories that she sometimes wishes were less complicated. Banshee, her debut novel, grew out of her love of aircraft and history; a second novel is in progress in a similar vein.
She thoroughly enjoys her research, especially as it often means she needs to buy and read even more books; in another life, she may well have chosen to become a historian instead.
When not writing, she is a part-time aerospace engineer. She lives in central England with her husband and young son.
