Martyn MacDonald Adams

Martyn lives in a small town in the UK called Godalming, named after a local Saxon lord. He is a lightly bearded, 1950s vintage, ex-software development manager. Apart from several short stories that are published in the series of anthologies called ‘Godalming Tales’, Martyn has also written: -

• The Furricious Gang of Godalming

The collection of short stories about the teddy bears that live in his hometown of Godalming. Most, but not all, of these stories have previously been published in ‘Godalming Tales’.

• Steaming Up

A series of (so far) four Edwardian Sci-Fi novels about a complete non-hero and his relationship with a young, pretty, albeit sociopathic murderess. This chronicles the rise of Michael Browning and Eulalia (the object of his lust) in a steam-powered Edwardian society - one that makes our right-wing politicians look like pinky socialists.

• The Gunnersbury Gang

This is the story of how a motley collection of squatters get evicted and so, desperate for money, they decide to rob a bank. But doing so brings them to the attention of someone with plans.

Martyn’s other main hobby is writing songs with his friend Gordon Ayshford, and performing them on stage. They are the local duo known as Nightingale Road. They also do concerts for charity.

When he gets philosophical, Martyn likes to muse on the fact that we all live together on the crust of a ball of molten rock while it whizzes around a deadly nuclear fireball. Yet, despite this fact, few of us have fallen off. Sometimes, at night, he looks up into the sky with wide-eyed wonder hoping that there’s nothing large out there determined to bump into us.

Meanwhile, we are all busy poisoning our home and squabbling amongst ourselves for reasons that he completely fails to understand.
