Elizabeth Green

Elizabeth Green, MBBS (Hons), FRACP, graduated from Melbourne University in 1982, and has a vast and diverse bank of clinical experience. This included city and rural general practice before landing her dream job with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, RFDS, in outback Australia where her career as a paediatrician took off. She spent twenty-four years running a sole private paediatric practice in Perth and has cared for around forty thousand children. She continues to champion for children and young people as a writer, passionate about autism, ADHD, specific learning problems, anxiety, climate anxiety, and the shift in our social compass. Dr Green is the author of 'Parenting is Forever—a paediatrician’s tips for parents, teachers and carers', published by UWAP in 2017, and was longlisted for her short story, ‘Tiger Wave’, in The Best Australian Yarn 2022 competition. Her new book is a medical memoir, 'No Time for Makeup: The life of a flying doctor and paediatrician', of how an ordinary girl raised in remote Australia chose some extraordinary roads to travel.

Her story was released by Exisle Publishing on 2 April 2025. Sidebar: Elizabeth is married to Dr Stephen Langford, an author, who was also a flying doctor, and is the parent of two adult daughters who are actors. Her social media handle and website are under parentingisforever.
