Louis Canella M.D.

With respect to my credentials as an author about scientific, metaphysical and religious matters, I am a retired psychiatrist who graduated from the University of Toronto School of Medicine. My life-long interests in the workings of nature, in psychology, philosophy and religion ultimately led me to medicine, specializing in psychiatry. Following these passions allowed me to help my patients with their physical, psychological and spiritual difficulties. Dealing with real-life situations and people in their suffering necessitated the development of a holistic understanding of the human condition - a marrying of science and religion. "All Creation, Loved into Existence" was written in order to broadly share some of what I have learned about ourselves in the world in relation to God.

On a personal note, I was widowed at the age of sixty-two and have two boys from that union. I remarried two years later and our blended family includes four adult children and seven grandchildren. In terms of my faith, I cannot overstate the influence my grandmother and mother had on my spiritual growth. I enjoy travelling, helping out with nonprofit fundraising events, as well as working around the house and the family cottage. I have had my share of physical problems and life's challenges, which have deepened my faith and made me increasingly conscious of the wonder that is human existence.
