Rainer Neumann

I have devoted my life to writing and publishing books of poetry and novels and creating art (pastel drawings, watercolor paintings). Born in Germany at the end of the second world war, my family escaped from the East German authoritarian regime and I was able to experience the freedoms and oppurtunities that Canada and America offered. This included a master's degree in Humanities and the challenge of teaching introductory classes in art, music and poetry. After my father died I translated his poetry and my mother's journal of their love and life during the times of war and fortunate peace. My current life has seen a number of exhibits and poetry readings at local venues in Half Moon Bay, with a recent book - Poetry and Pastels - published in 2023.
