Robert Echols is an award winning, spiritual writer, ethicist, and lifelong advocate for animal stewardship and reverence for life. A cancer survivor and U.S. Army veteran, he holds degrees from Phillips Exeter Academy, New York University, and Emory University (J.D./M.B.A.), with a professional background that includes corporate ethics, legal counsel, and nonprofit leadership. He previously served in the U.S. Army JAG Corps and later as Director of Business Conduct for Monsanto.
Echols is the author of For Our Friends the Animals, a four-volume treatise that blends theological insight, personal experience, and ethical reasoning to inspire a compassionate worldview centered on the universal love of Jesus. His work draws on the legacy of Albert Schweitzer’s “Reverence for Life” and calls readers to a lived faith that embraces all of God’s creation. He continues to speak, write, and advocate from his home in Fairhope, Alabama.
