Tim Whitfield has been involved in law enforcement for 42 years. He served for 25 years beginning as a Deputy Sheriff with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and was later promoted to Command their Forensic Science Division. Upon Tim's retirement from the Pinellas Sheriff's Office, he was offered an Agency Director's position with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office as their Director of the Scientific Investigations Division. Tim served in that capacity for 17 additional years until he retired a second time in 2018. During Tim's off duty time, he served as a Forensic Science professor at several universities in Florida to include St.Leo University, St. Petersburg College and the University of North Florida through the Institute of Police Technology and Management. In addition, Tim has taught forensic classes to the United States Treasury Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Washington State Police as well as numerous others. Tim has been accepted in court as an expert witness in over 10 separate areas of Forensic Science.
