Bahar Tavakolian

Bahar Tavakolian was born in Iran and moved to the U.S. as a teenager. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University and has enjoyed a diverse career, including roles at the Institute for Mechanics & Materials at UC San Diego, Rockwell International Aerospace, UCLA (as a visiting professor), Sarnoff Corporation in Princeton, NJ, and as Director of Microstructure Development at the biotech startup, Orchid Biosciences.

In 2007, Bahar made a U-turn from the world of science and technology into Manhattan residential real estate, where she has since excelled as a top broker. Since 2017, she has consistently ranked among the top 0.5% of the nation’s premier real estate professionals and is a founding member of REALM, an exclusive group of approximately 500 elite brokers worldwide. Bahar has been quoted in top publications such as the New York Times, Bloomberg, and the Financial Times.

Bahar is the author of several scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals and writes a weekly blog on real estate, with a focus on Manhattan and Brooklyn.

In 1996, Bahar encouraged Nahid to write a cookbook, a project they embraced together, with Bahar assisting in documenting and testing the recipes. Bahar resides in New York with her husband, Majid, and is the proud mother of Sara and Kourosh.
